Digi-Art Pet Photo Contest Rules |
1. A copy of your image becomes the property of Digi-Art. You agree that your entry in the contest gives Digi-Art full copyrights for the use of your image. Digi-Art may alter your image and use it to create paintings, and may display, publish, and publicize your image, its paintings or likenesses thereof, without any notice or payment to you. Digi-Art does not intend to use your photo for anything other than to create a painting and promote and sell its paintings. You agree that Digi-Art owns full rights to any painting it creates. 2. Digi-Art cannot accept copyrighted photos without the written permission of the copyright owner, and you agree not to submit any copyrighted photo without such permission included, and to hold Digi-Art harmless for any copyright infringement arising out of your failure to heed this rule. Digi-Art currently has blanket permissions to use copies of photos to make its paintings from famous pet photographers John Ashby, Brian Kurtis, and Jim Childs. Please check with the copyright owner to insure this permission remains in force before submitting one of these photos. 3. Digi-Art will make every effort to return your original photo unharmed, but cannot be responsible for damage incurred in shipping. If you wish your original photo returned, please provide a suitable stiff envelope or envelope with stiffeners, such as cardboard padding, and return postage (not cash). Digi-Art recommends sending your photo by email so that return is unnecessary. The original does not need to be digital, it can be a snapshot that is scanned, or copied with a digital camera, for emailing. Emailed photos should not exceed 2 Mb in size, a .JPG format is preferred. Please he sure to include your name and address, and email address, with any email submission. See the Contest Entry form for information to include. 4. Photos submitted must be at least 2 inches by 2 inches if paper or 512Kb in size if digital, and not more than 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches if paper or 2Mb in size if digital. They may be black and white (or sepia, etc.) or color, original or scanned, mounted or unmounted, Polaroid, self-printed, or any two dimensional art medium. The type of image (paper or digital) does not affect the judging. 5. Contest entries for the Fall Contest will be accepted through November 20, for the Spring Contest through April 20, and for the Summer Contest through August 20. You must use the appropriate Contest Entry form for each contest; you may printout a copy from this website or use the information on the form in your email. Prizes are normally awarded every month, with the final prizes for each contest awarded December 1, May 1, and September 1. For your photo to be accepted for judging, you must follow all the rules and agree to the use of your images and its likenesses by Digi-Art. No purchase is necessary. That's it, and Good Luck! |
